Japanese doll of a dancing lady with two fans, 1970's
This extremely big, attractive Japanese
traditional
doll crafted in Tokyo, around 1970-s
and represents beautiful young lady dressed with
wonderfully rendered silk kimono and silk brocaded obi belt.
She holds two folding golden fans hand painted
artistically with white flying storks on each fan in her hands
and dancing with.
Lady's upper black colored silk kimono hand painted
with flowers and birds motif and kimono's long right
sleeve thrown off to reveal vibrant color her under
kimono. That kimono is golden-red and also hand painted
with birds and flowers. Her both kimonos have slightly
padded hems for trailing when walking.
Her hairdo in late Edo style embellished with carved
and painted red comb and hand painted two long
hair pins, as well as silk flowers, silk ribbon and scarf.
Dimensions: 55 cm / 21,6 inches high
Condition: very good, one slightly visible yellowish
stain on the doll's forehead
